
Stop Messing Around with SWIR Tubes
Most engineers do things the hard way. You buy a few individual short wave infrared (SWIR) tubes, spend hours messing with the wiring, and then try to build a reflector housing right there on your shop floor. It’s a lot of tedious work. We want to take that off your plate. Instead of sending you a fragile glass tube and wishing you good luck, we’ve built full, curved heating modules. They’re basically drop-in replacements.
The trick to getting the heat right
Short wave IR is great because it hits hard and fast. But when you bend a tube into a curve, the physics change. You can’t just bend the glass and hope for the best. We still use that same halogen-filled quartz for the fast heat-up, but we spend our time calculating the exact arc. Why? Because we want the heat to hit your workpiece exactly where it needs to. No weird hot spots, no burnt materials. Just a clean, consistent hit.
Forget the assembly line headache
Wiring one lamp is easy. Wiring twenty? That’s a nightmare. Our modules come pre-wired and pre-mounted. We handle the tensioning and the reflector alignment before they ever leave our doors. You just bolt the unit into your machine and you’re done. It saves you from that annoying “trial and error” phase where you spend half your day tweaking heights and angles just to get the machine commissioned.
A few things to keep in mind
Here is the honest part: if you go for high wattage in a curved setup, you’re putting a lot of stress on the mounting brackets. If you spec out a high-power module, make sure your chassis can breathe. Without some decent ventilation or active cooling, your mounting hardware is going to warp over time. It’s just the nature of the heat. The goal here is to let you stop worrying about quartz tubes breaking in shipping and start focusing on your cycle times. It’s a lot less stress.
